Infessura, Stefano

ca 1440 - before 1500. Italy. Professor of civil law and scribe of the senate of the commune of Rome. Author of the Diario della città di Roma (diary of the city of Rome). This "most Roman of all chroniclers" (Esch, 349) was born into an influential family of the rione Treviri. Infessura was legum doctor and taught civil law at the Studium Urbis from at least 1473 to 1494. His lost work Liber de comuniter accidentibus most likely was a juridical treatise.
