Chronica episcopatus Brandenburgensis

ca 1241. Germany. Fragments of a once longer Latin chronicle of the diocese of Brandenburg, but also with some regional interest in Saxony, covering a period from the installation of Bishop (S)wigerus in 1139 to the death of Bishop Gernandus in January, 1241.

The text is transmitted in Goslar, Stadtarchiv, Inv.-Nr. B 4146, 79, and also in Mader's 1678 print, which is based on a different, lost manuscript. Both are fragmentary. The MGH edition collates the two, producing a fuller but still fragmentary text.
