The work is no longer extant, though some idea of its contents can be gained from other works. It was written in response to criticisms leveled at the Taṣaffuḥ al-adilla, so it would have been written in Baghdad after this major work, and probably sometime towards the end of Abū l-Ḥusayn’s life, in the 1030s or early 1040s.
