Staging-post in Etruria on the via Cassia between Florentia (c. 27 km away) and Pistoriae (c. 9 km away; Tab. Peut. 4,2; Geogr. Rav. 4,36); in AD 848 attested as Alina (MGH, Diplomata Karolina 3,242, no. 102) and therefore to be identified with Agliana (Pistoia).
