Town of the Umbri on the slopes of Mount Subasio, modern Assisi. From 89 BC municipium of the tribus Sergia, later regio VI (Str. 5,2,10; Plin. HN 3,113; Ptol. 3,1,53). Birthplace of Propertius. Wall ring in opus quadratum with an irregular course (2.5 km), remains of a gate in the west.
