Born Rome 30. 10. 1751, the son of the archaeologist Giovanni Battista Visconti, died Paris 7. 2. 1818. 1771 doctorate in Rome (Dr. iur.). 1775 valet to Pope Pius VI. 1783 vice-curator of the Bibliotheca Vaticana; late 1783–1785 librarian to Prince Sigismondo Chigi.
