Italian archaeologist, Papal official and antiquarian scholar. Born Farnese 1694, died Pesaro 1780. Studied jurisprudence in Rome and Perugia; career in Vatican civil service. Took holy orders after his wife’s death in 1741; from 1760 vicar-general of Pesaro.
