Italian theologian, antiquarian and ecclesiastical historian. Born Verona 23. 2. 1530, died Palermo in April 1568. 1541 entered the Augustinian Order, receiving a Humanist education there. Continued studies at Rome from 1549. From 1552 until his death, librarian and historian to Cardinal Alessandro Farnese.
