Russian ancient historian. Born Sokolki (Bugul’ma uyezd, Samara gubernia) 9. 2. 1900, died Moscow 15. 9. 1950. School in Bugul’ma; 1918–1921 studied at Faculty of History and Philosophy at Univ. of Samara, 1921/22 at Faculty of Social Sciences, Univ. of Moscow.
