Born Hiltpolstein (Upper Franconia) 10. 6. 1774, died Ampelakia (Thessaly) 5. 11. 1817. 1792–1794 architecture studies at Karlsschule in Stuttgart, 1798–1805 at Berlin Bauakademie. 1806 architectural inspector at Nuremberg; 1808–1817 travels to Rome, Greece and Constantinople.
