From 1589 to c. 1598 studied classical literature and philosophy at Cambridge, Paris, Leuven, Rome and Douai. Various professorships in classical literature, philosophy and Roman law at Tournai, Paris, Toulouse, Montpellier, Nîmes, then again at Paris from 1609.
