Nicholas of Kues, Nicolaus Treverensis, Nicolaus de Cusa; German Humanist and cardinal. Born Kues an der Mosel 22. 10. 1401, died Todi (Umbria) 11. 8. 1464. 1416 studied artes at Heidelberg; from 1417/18, studied ecclesiastical law at Padua, 1423 doctorate as Doctor decretorum.
