Began education at Beauvais with his uncle Louis Hallé, theologian and prof. at the Sorbonne, continuing at Paris under Abbé Pierre Danet. Studied law; appointment as lawyer at Parlement de Paris. 1689 associate member of Accademia dei Ricoverati in Padua.
