Biography

MS Niamey, 326, has intro. by Sh. Marḥaba (q.v.) who calls the author, Aḥmad Bābā, brother of ʿUmar Fadika b. Muḥammad b. Yūsuf b. al-Salām b. Ibrāhīm al-Dabāsī al-Fādikī al-Zāghawī. He says ʿUmar studied under Sulāymān Qaramughu [Karamoko] in the town of W-s-gh-lā [Sigila] Ghāyʿā. He [took his learning] from Mūsā Saghanuqu, from Saʿīd Saghanuqu from his brother al-ʿAbbās Saghanuqu from his father Muḥammad al-Muṣṭafā from his grandfather Muḥammad al-ʿĀfī.
